Xiaomi’s new phone sets Guinness World Record

Chinese mobile phone maker Xiaomi took marketing a little too seriously to promote their newly launched device Mi Play. They created a giant digital display combining 1,005 Mi Play devices at a Chinese mall. The display resembled a large Christmas tree. Thereby, winning a new Guinness World Record and replacing previous similar record using 504 mobile units.

Apparently it took 12 hours or more to put this together and painfully synchronising the displays to form shape of a tree. See below image.
